Allocations

The Arkansas Corn and Grain Sorghum Board has worked since its inception in 1997 to develop a viable research program divided between the two commodities based upon the percentage of the check-off collected from each.

The Board prides itself on being able to put virtually all of the producer invested funds back into projects that will benefit corn and grain sorghum producers in the state. Only 1-percent or less of the funds are spent on Board expenses as Board members volunteer their time to serve on the Board, and the Arkansas Department of Agriculture provides administrative services to the Board at no charge.

The Board's target is to invest roughly 85% of funds into research, 14% into promotion, and less than 1% towards board expenses.
